In theory, you can apply for a work permit as soon as Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Maple Program 1 (approx. 8-14 weeks) is completed.
However, we do not issue the Letter of Support until the succesful completion of Phase 2. Based on the structure of Phase 2, the faster that your company is able to complete all check points required by our program, the sooner you can apply for the following intake of Phase 3 companies which lands either in January, May or September.
As part of the Maple Program, the essential team members of your company will be required to apply for a Work Permit before arriving in Vancouver, Canada for Phase 3 of the Maple Program. The work permit takes approximately 1 month to be approved.
If you choose to forgo the work permit and apply for Permanent Residence, it will take at least six months for the PR Application to be approved. However, at least one of your team members must be listed as an essential team-member and is required to apply for a work permit before arriving in Canada to complete Phase 3 of the Maple Program. Please note that individual cases may vary greatly.
